Arlington Highlights – Positioned squarely between Dallas and Fort Worth, Arlington has grown into a destination in its own right, a spread our street map lays out clearly from its entertainment district to the quieter neighborhoods beyond it. The Entertainment District, anchored by two major stadiums and a large amusement park, draws crowds year round and has spurred a wave of new hotels and dining options nearby. Lake Arlington, on the city’s western edge, gives nearby residents a rare stretch of waterfront parkland and boating access within a mostly landlocked metro area. Downtown Arlington has slowly rebuilt itself around the University of Texas at Arlington, adding student housing and small businesses to what was once a quieter civic core. Pantego, a small independent town bordered almost entirely by Arlington, retains its own tight knit identity despite sitting in the middle of a much larger city. South Arlington has filled in with newer master planned communities, giving families access to larger homes and modern schools within the same municipal boundaries.
