Interstate 215 and State Route 60 both pass through Riverside as well, converging near downtown and providing routes north toward San Bernardino or west toward Los Angeles. The Riverside Transit Agency operates the local bus network, with the downtown terminal serving as the main connection point, and Metrolink commuter rail offers a direct line from downtown Riverside into Los Angeles for those commuting into the city. Downtown itself, anchored by the historic Mission Inn, is walkable in its core, but the broader spread of the city and the region’s reliance on freeways make a car the most practical option for most trips.
